'The Crown' Season 2 : What To Expect

Netflix drama 'The Crown' stars Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II, Doctor Who's Matt Smith as her husband His Royal Highness Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, with John Lithgow as Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
Last season covered the period from when Her Majesty and His Royal Highness got married to the much ado over her sister Princess Margaret's (Vanessa Kirby) relationship with Peter Townsend(Ben Miles), the man she loved very much but wasn't allowed to marry. Last season also showed the surprising tension and conflict between the newlyweds, their difference ideas of parenting their son, Prince Charles and the young Queen’s own issues with her sister Margaret.
P.S, viewers who read up about Princess Margaret and Group Captain Peter Townsend will  wish over and over again they were allowed to marry.

What should viewers expect in Season 2 then?

In Season 2, the British army will be fighting an illegal war in Egypt, and expect a scandal that will take down Queen Elizabeth II's third prime minister, Harold Macmillan. Plus, expect to see Dexter's Michael C. Hall and South African actress Jodi Balfour, who are going to play American President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jackie. And there’s Matthew Goode, who will play Princess Margaret's husband Antony Armstrong-Jones, Lord Snowdon.

As ‘The Crown’ is to cover six decades of the royal family’s story line- which of course will require older cast members later on- Season 2 will be Claire Foy’s last season of playing the Queen.
