Tommy Mikal Ford, best known as the "straight man", Tommy Strawn in the 90's sitcom, MARTIN, passed away on Wednesday; after being on life support, following a ruptured aneurysm in his stomach. Social Media has been full of eulogies and tributes to the late actor who also featured in the Kid N' Play movie CLASS ACT, police drama NEW YORK UNDERCOVER, guest appearances in A DIFFERENT WORLD and THE PRETENDER and a recurring role as Nicki's ex husband/Kim's father in THE PARKERS.
Martin Lawrence, who starred/co-created MARTIN, playing the lead character; wise cracking and temperamental Martin Payne (one of his running rants at Tommy being "You ain't got no job!") paid a touching tribute to his late co-star and friend on Instagram:
My brother... we were friends way b4 the Martin Show & I'm glad we were able to show true friendship on-screen. You brought a lot of love to the world and you will be greatly missed. God Bless to you and the family. Rest in Peace my brother.#TommyFord #Brotherforlife
